The Secretary of State's trip comes after Palestinian officials claimed that at least 33 people were killed and dozens more injured in an Israeli airstrike on a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. What We Know Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited the occupied West Bank today, where he met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. He made it clear that "Palestinians should not be forcibly displaced," according to a State Department representative. An Israeli airstrike on the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in the Gaza Strip early on Sunday resulted in the deaths of at least 47 people and dozens more were injured, according to a statement from the Gaza Health Ministry. NBC News could not independently verify the death toll and reached out for comments to the Israel Defense Forces. The attack occurred as Israel announced it would continue its offensive in the Gaza Strip, despite calls from the U.S. and other countries for a pause in hostilities to provide aid to desperate civilians there. Over 1.4 million people have been forced to leave their homes in Gaza, and health officials there say nearly 9,500 people have been killed. Israel claims that 1,400 people have died as a result of Hamas attacks, and 241 people are still held hostage. NBC News' Richard Engel, Raf Sanchez, Josh Lederman, Matt Bradley, Megan Fitzgerald, Jay Gray, Hala Gorani, and Chantal da Silva are reporting from the region.
