Josh McDaniels lost the locker room before losing his last game with the Lions and losing his job the next day.

This is according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who states that players and assistant coaches confronted McDaniels in a team meeting on Thursday before the Lions' game, five days before McDaniels was fired.

Among the issues that players complained about with McDaniels were that he conducted lengthy team meetings, overcorrected every mistake, and blamed players for on-field issues.

According to the report, at the next Raiders practice, a few hours after the team meeting, McDaniels was a shell of himself and behaved more like an onlooker than a head coach.

The report also states that Raiders owner Mark Davis met with players, including Josh Jacobs and Davante Adams, and that during these meetings, Davis learned many of the issues that players raised to McDaniels in the team meeting.

It was a tumultuous situation that led to McDaniels being fired midway through his second season — the second time in his career.
